LEVEL Joinery started as one man and a van, and grew slowly, by reputation, not advertising. Seventeen years later, the same values still shape every project.
From a spare bedroom to a Cupar workshop.
Aidan Forsyth trained as a joiner in Dundee, spending eight years on housebuilding sites before deciding the work he actually enjoyed, the precise, considered stuff, was getting squeezed out by speed and cost-cutting.
In 2009 he set up on his own, taking on small jobs around Fife: shelving, repairs, the occasional fitted wardrobe. Word spread. By 2014 he'd taken on his first apprentice and moved into a small workshop unit in Cupar. The name "LEVEL" came from the spirit level that sat on the dashboard of that first van, a reminder that the standard doesn't change, however small the job.
Today the workshop has grown, but the approach hasn't: every project still gets the same attention, whether it's a single shelf or a full kitchen.

Drawn before built
Every project gets a scaled drawing before any timber is cut. No verbal agreements, no "we'll figure it out on site."
No subcontracting
The people who quote your job are the people who build it. We don't hand work to other tradespeople under our name.
Fixed price, honoured
98% of our quotes have been honoured exactly as written. If we get something wrong, that's our cost to absorb, not yours.
Built to be repaired
We design joinery that can be maintained and repaired in 20 years' time, not replaced, because it was never designed to last that long.

A small team by design, every client deals directly with the people doing the work.
17 years in the trade, City & Guilds qualified. Leads design and surveys, and is on tools for at least one project at any time.
Joined as an apprentice in 2014, now LEVEL's second pair of hands on every major project, particularly staircases and restoration.
Handles scheduling and quotes, and is usually the first person you'll speak to when you get in touch. In the Cupar workshop three days a week.
